Miniature Lotus

Our collection includes a lot of miniature Lotus race cars, because Lotus has a long history in the Formula One and are less known for their passenger cars. However, the passenger cars were used a lot in movies for publicity for the brand. We at Art-Toys had to include this iconic brand in our assortment.

A successful miniature Lotus race car

Lotus was a famous Formula One team in its early years. It won a lot of titles and had some famous racers like Ayrton Senna and Nelson Piquet. The Lotus is a classic among a lot of Formula One cars and therefore we were required to include some in our assortment of luxury miniature cars. The Lotus Esprit was used in the James Bond movies The Spy Who Loved Me and For Your Eyes Only. Lotus was used in those two movies as main car by James Bond, replacing Aston Martin for a while. After those successes, it went a little downhill and in 1985 it was acquired by General Motors, who in turn sold it to Bugatti. Right now, Lotus is owned by the Chinese company Geely and produces mostly luxury passenger cars.
