ZELENSIS

Zelensis was a Belgian sports car brand that produced only one model. The designer of this car and owner of the factory was Raoul Thiebaut. The name of the car refers to the town of Zele where Thiebaut was born and the Zelensis was produced. In addition to the name, details in the car's design refer to the Zeels. A total of approximately 50 Zelensis were produced from 1958 to 1965. The body of the open sports car was made entirely of polyester. The Zelensis was built in Zele on the chassis of a Volkswagen Beetle or a Karmann Ghia. One copy was made on the chassis of a Renault Dauphine. The concept used by the manufacturer was based on the delivery of the bodywork. The buyer then determined how the car should be further reduced. Each Zelensis has therefore become unique. A notable detail is the identification number and date that are placed invisibly in a front fender; this is visible with infrared radiation.
